DAN AND SEB’S GUIDE TO MIAMI
We absolutely love spending time in Miami. Not only do we get to catch up with Seb’s friends and family, but it’s a welcome antidote to New York’s endless energy, especially in the depths of winter! Here are some of our favorite things to do when we’re in town that we hope you might enjoy too.
OUR PERFECT MIAMI ITINERARY
WAKE UP
9AM:
Wake up and head to South Pointe Park + Beach before 10am. There’s no better way to wake up than with a dip in the ocean, and you’ll be ahead of the crowds.
12pm:
Stop by Under the Mango Tree when you leave the beach and grab a fresh juice or smoothie to cool off and keep the healthy morning going.
1pm:
Head over to the Design District and grab lunch at Michael’s Genuine
2pm:
Escape the heat by strolling over to the ICA Miami or drive to the Perez or Rubell Museums.
4pm:
All the sunshine, eating and art will leave you in the perfect state for an afternoon shower and nap.
7:30pm:
Head out to dinner and drinks in any one of the great options. Nowhere is too far in Miami so as long as you time it with traffic.

MIAMI BEACH
South Beach
The liveliest and most famous beach in the world. The whole neighborhood is fun to explore, with a mix of bars and restaurants, shopping, and plenty of places to eat. Parts of it are very touristy so we recommend starting your day early in the ‘South of Fifth’ area, particularly walking around South Pointe Park and a few hours tanning on the beach followed by the best lunch at Joe’s Stone Crab.
Mid-Beach
Mid-Beach is much quieter than South Beach, if you aren’t staying here you can still find plenty of public beach access, specifically next to the W Hotel on 23rd Street. Head to the beach early in the morning when it’s still quiet (9am - 1pm ideally) and enjoy a few hours on the beach followed by a visit to the Bass Museum and lunch in the area.
DESIGN DISTRICT / WYNWOOD
These neighborhoods border each other and together they form a huge hub for the best culture in Miami.
Design District
We recommend starting at the Design District to check out the ICA Miami, a new contemporary art museum, followed by lunch at one of Miami’s best restuarants. We recommend eating at Mandolin, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Contessa, and Mia Market Food Hall among others. Stroll around afterwards to see some of the coolest architecture and shops in Miami.
Wynwood
Wynwood is a very unique neighborhood covered in street art murals. It can get quite busy, but some of Miami’s best restaurants are still in this area. We recommend starting your day at Zak the Baker and coffee at Panther Coffee, the best in Miami. Some restaurants we recommend are Doya, Uchi, and Pastis.
COCONUT GROVE
A lush haven of a neighborhood in South Miami filled with tropical flora and banyan trees. This area has been revived over the past few years and has one of the coolest vibes in the city. You’ll be surrounded by endless greenery and don’t be surprised to see the odd peacock roaming! The whole area is walkable and feels very local. We recommend going to Green Street, Panther Coffee, Krus Kitchen, Mr. C Hotel, and Chug’s Diner, followed by a walk down to Kennedy Park and checking out the bay along the way.
KEY BISCAYNE
Key Biscayne is its own island off the coast of Miami. The only way to get on / off is through a beautiful bridge. There are beautiful state parks on the island and the drive alone makes it worth visiting. Also, the Miami Open tennis tournament used to be held here at Crandon Park - now you can book a court at the former tournament site to play on yourselves. We recommend starting your day by walking the Key Biscayne bridge (~1.5 miles), taking a dip on the other side of the bridge and walking all the way to the Miami Marine Stadium followed by lunch at the Rusty Pelican.
